Each wedding day is successful, in part, because of the creative teams that are assembled to support that couple. We’re all about the team experience at Gold Grid Studios, and that extends to industry professionals in other fields. Today, we are excited to tell you about LK Events, a fabulous full-service wedding & event planning company. We always look forward to seeing that a Gold Grid couple is working with LK Events, because we know that we are all in great hands! We talked to Nicole, a vivacious member of the LK team. Nicole is also an active member of the International Special Events Society and is currently the President for the Chicago Chapter.

What’s one thing that makes LK Events different than other professionals in your field?

LK Events has experience. I personally have been working in weddings and events for 12 years and continue to learn and grow as an event professional through business chats with other professionals, attending industry conferences, and earning the CSEP designation. (I am the only wedding planner in Chicago that has earned this title.)

LK Events has relationships. This is a backbone of our company in that we develop and nurture our relationships with other event professionals so that we can curate the best team for our couples. We help you hire the professionals that fit your personalities, your style, and your budget.

LK Events is a family. We love getting to know our couples and becoming friends with them. We are a team and we value quality over quantity. This means I limit the amount of weddings that I book each year so that I can give you the customer service that you deserve.

Why do you do what you do?

I have always loved events, since high school, and helping to plan and produce a wedding allows me to help someone out during a stressful and emotional time in their lives. It is such an honor to be invited into your family and to share such a special moment in your lives.

What’s your favorite part of a wedding day?

It’s a little cliche, but my favorite moment on the wedding day is the ceremony. I mean, this is why everyone has gathered together and it is such a powerful moment to see you and your fiancé make that commitment to each other in front of all of your family and friends.

What’s the most popular misconception you wish every couple understood differently about your profession?

There are actually quite a few misconceptions around wedding planners and maybe the biggest one is that we are a luxury. I feel that we are a must-have to every wedding. We can guide you through the the planning process so that you don’t make costly mistakes, and then on the wedding day, your team of event professionals can actually do the job that they were hired to do and not be distracted by the logistics.
